Carmel
Carmel Corrigan is a trainee psychotherapist currently completing her training with IICP. She offers low-cost counselling in a warm, confidential, and supportive environment.
Carmel’s approach is person-centred and humanistic, with a strong focus on understanding each person’s unique experience. She works collaboratively, offering support and reflection while respecting each client’s own sense of what feels right for them.
She works under professional supervision and supports clients experiencing anxiety, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, and periods of emotional change or uncertainty. Therapy, as she sees it, is not about fixing what is broken, but about supporting you to feel more at ease with yourself and more connected to who you are, with kindness and compassion.
In addition to her psychotherapy training, Carmel works with children. an experience that has strengthened her patience, empathy, and ability to attune to others’ emotional needs. She has written reflective pieces on her blog exploring grief, personal growth, and emotional resilience, which continue to inform her understanding of the therapeutic process. Her personal experience with EMDR has sparked a keen interest in trauma-focused approaches and deepened her appreciation for the transformative potential of therapy. Carmel has also volunteered internationally, including charity work in India, which broadened her perspective and deepened her understanding of diverse human experiences.
