Alan (He/Him) is a counsellor and psychotherapist accredited with the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP) and a member of Psychologists Protection Society (PPS
Alan’s training consists of a (BA.Hons) Degree in integrative counselling and psychotherapy, a (MA) Masters in pluralistic counselling and psychotherapy and is currently engaged in a (Phd) doctorate of psychotherapy. Alan has been working with clients in therapy since 2016 and lecturing in the area of psychotherapy since 2020.
Alan’s way of working as a therapist is predominantly humanistic, which means there is a belief that each client will be the expert in their own life. Therefore, therapy should be about working collaboratively to find solutions that work for you and your life specifically. Using an integrative and pluralistic approach means that Alan can pull on multiple modes of psychotherapy to help tailor therapy to what each client may need, rather than using a one size fits all approach.
Alan works with a wide range of clients (ages 16+) and issues, such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationships issues, identity, etc. Additionally Alan also has a special interest in working with the LGBTQIA+ and Neurodiverse communities, and believes in offering a safe and comfortable space that each person can be their authentic selves during the therapeutic process.
