Ciara

Ciara McEvoy is a psychotherapist and former HSE Mental Health pharmacist who offers a
unique and unparalleled perspective on healing and mental wellbeing. With over 30 years’
clinical experience as a pharmacist, Ciara has engaged in thousands of conversations with
patients about what matters most and deeply understands how life’s struggles can impact
both physical and mental health. This extensive background informs her belief that
unresolved trauma, prolonged stress and relationship difficulties can manifest as chronic
illness or persistent physical symptoms. Ciara holds a Masters (MSc) in Pluralistic
Counselling and Psychotherapy, and is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association for
Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). A session with Ciara is €90.
Ciara’s expertise assists clients who are navigating significant life transitions such as
parenting challenges, chronic illness diagnosis and health-related concerns, work-related
stress, relationship difficulties (particularly complex family dynamics), carer burden and
bereavement. She specialises in supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety,
narcissistic abuse, trauma, self-esteem issues, and sensory processing sensitivity (being
highly sensitive), drawing from her own innate understanding of these struggles.
A passionate advocate for mental wellbeing, Ciara is deeply committed to supporting her
healthcare professional colleagues. Her Masters’ research, The Wounded Healer, directly
explored the unique needs and challenges faced by frontline healthcare professionals in
therapy, including the pervasive issues of stigma in seeking help and emotional detachment
within the medical culture. Ciara has also held pharmacist advocacy roles, such as
mentoring pharmacists and supporting their wellbeing during COVID-19 and beyond. Acutely
aware of frontline demands, Ciara creates a safe and confidential space that supports
healthcare professionals’ resilience and personal growth.
Ciara’s collaborative pluralistic therapeutic approach is tailored to your unique needs and
empowers you to use your own strengths and resources to achieve your goals and find
meaning. Ciara challenges the conventional view that psychological distress is something
‘wrong’ with a person, instead reframing it as an opportunity for awakening towards
authenticity and meaning. Ciara cultivates a reflective and empathetic space, prioritising your
safety, especially when trust has been broken. Ciara’s goal is to guide you towards greater
clarity, inner strength, and a renewed sense of purpose, making your healing path feel fully
supported and less overwhelming.
